Manuscripts Don't Burn
A conceptual artwork – Dedicated to Mikhail Bulgakov

MANUSCRIPTS DON'T BURN
A rusted nail stands at the center of the composition, wrapped in the language of suppression: "Censored," "[Redacted]," and "Persecuted."
The work draws inspiration from Mikhail Bulgakov's enduring declaration: "Manuscripts don't burn." Throughout history, ideas have been erased, rewritten, censored, and forbidden. Yet words possess a peculiar resilience. They survive their authors, their censors, and often the regimes that sought to silence them.
The nail functions simultaneously as weapon, instrument, and witness. Rust marks the passage of time, while the surrounding labels evoke mechanisms of power that persist across centuries.
This artwork is dedicated not only to literature, but to every voice that endured attempts at erasure.
