Empty Promises, Empty People, Empty World.

Empty Promises, Empty People, Empty World.
Everyday life is built on small promises.
I’ll call you.
I’ll be there.
I’ll do it tomorrow.
I won’t forget.
You can count on me.
I’ll keep my word.
Most of them seem insignificant. They are not declarations of eternal love or promises made from a podium. They are ordinary words exchanged between friends, colleagues, neighbours, and strangers.
And perhaps that is why we hardly notice when they are broken.
One forgotten call means little. One postponed meeting changes almost nothing. One broken promise can easily be forgiven. But a world is not built from grand declarations alone. It is built from millions of small acts of trust between people.
Each promise creates an expectation that another person will be there, will remember, will return, will do what they said they would do.
When these small promises repeatedly lose their meaning, something larger begins to disappear with them.
Trust.
The work is not about one broken promise. It is about accumulation — the quiet erosion of meaning when words become easier to give than actions.
Perhaps an empty world does not begin when everything disappears.
Perhaps it begins when words remain, people remain, everything appears to be in its place — but we can no longer believe one another.
Empty promises.
Empty people.
Empty world.
