The Difference.
The Difference examines one of the oldest mechanisms of war: the transformation of similarity into opposition.
On either side of the barbed wire lie the same ordinary nails. They have no nationality, ideology, religion, language, or history. Nothing inherent in them makes one side fundamentally different from the other. Yet the wire divides them, and blood appears beside each.
The work asks a deliberately simple question: Do you see the difference?

Politicians will explain why they must kill each other.
The work is not about denying real differences between nations, cultures, or people. It questions the moment when those differences are transformed into reasons for violence. The boundary comes first; then narratives are built around it. Us and them are defined, fear is cultivated, grievances are amplified, and eventually people who might otherwise have had no reason to hate one another are given reasons to kill.
The identical nails become anonymous human beings. The barbed wire represents the physical and psychological boundaries imposed between them. The blood is the same on both sides.
In the end, The Difference suggests that war requires more than weapons. It requires an explanation of why the person on the other side is different enough to die.
