Why?
Wars are often explained through maps, borders, politics, or ideology. Yet every war is ultimately lived by individuals—people with names, fears, families, and stories that rarely become part of history.
A mass-produced plastic toy soldier represents the way human lives are reduced to symbols, statistics, and interchangeable figures. Beneath it, the repeated word "Perhaps" refuses certainty. It offers no single explanation, because there is no single reason why people go to war. Duty, fear, manipulation, hope, love, despair, survival, obedience—each may be true, and none is enough on its own.
The work deliberately avoids taking sides. Instead, it asks the viewer to look beyond uniforms and slogans, and to confront the fragile humanity that exists before every conflict and often disappears within it.
The final sentence leaves no conclusion—only a question that remains unanswered:
